More abuse developments in the CofE

Maybe that should be revelations.
If the abuse in the Roman Catholic church wasn’t enough, here is another shocking story with the publication of an independent review into the way the Church of England responded to the case of Peter Ball, the former Bishop of Gloucester, who was jailed in 2015 after admitting a string of historical sex offences against 18 teenagers and young men. Ball was released from jail in February after serving 16 months. The story from the NSS here.

Again, the really sickening part of this is that the church (as did the Catholic church) conspired at the highest levels to hide the allegations and so allowed it to continue – story here.

The idea that either the Catholic church or the CofE have any semblance of moral authority must now be completely shot. Would I be right in guessing that any executive of a commercial organisation that had been involved in such cover-ups would have been prosecuted?
